More than any other sport, professional lacrosse players play a pivotal role in the health of their game by passing on their knowledge through coaching. MLL Press Box will highlight the current players in MLL who are carrying on that coaching legacy at the collegiate and high school levels in the Coaches Corner.
Stony Brook (Women) - Joe Spallina, Head Coach
Spallina (New York Lizards) and the No. 4 Seawolves come into this weekend's rivalry game against Binghamton red hot. They've won their last five games, including a 10-6 victory against No. 4 Colorado, and are undefeated at home this season.
Furman - John Haus, Assistant Coach
After losing its first four games of the season, Furman has gone 4-2 in its last six games after a 15-9 win at Jacksonville last weekend. Haus (Charlotte Hounds) and the Paladins will look to extend their winning streak to four this Saturday when they host Air Force.
Duke - Matt Danowski, Assistant Coach
After coming away with the win against the Tar Heels last weekend, No. 10 Duke will look to keep the momentum going when it faces No. 4 Notre Dame in Durham on Saturday. It will mark Duke's third straight game against an opponent currently in the top 20. Assistant Coach Matt Danowski was also featured in the Duke Chronicle this week.
Endicott - Eric Hagarty, Head Coach
Hagarty (Boston Cannons) has turned around his Endicott team from an 0-6 start by winning each of its last four games, including a 21-8 victory against Nichols last night. Senior attackman Will Jennings set a program record with 12 points (8 goals, 4 assists) in the win last night. The Gulls go for their fifth-straight win on Saturday when they travel to Western New England.
