LaxDraft LaxStat of the Week:

Atlanta Blaze goaltender Adam Ghitelman’s fifteen saves are the LaxDraft LaxStat for Week 10. While Randy Staats’ overtime goal propelled the Blaze to a 14-13 triumph over the Rochester Rattlers, Ghitelman’s performance was crucial in securing the win on the road. With the Rattlers making a comeback in the second half, Ghitelman saved nine shots (five in the third qaurter, three in the fourth) to keep the Blaze in contention. Ghitelman finished the game saving 14 of the 27 shots he faced, recording at .519 save percentage. 

 

The University of Virginia Product was originally selected by the Denver Outlaws in the eighth round (No. 45 overall) in the 2011 MLL Draft but was picked up by the Charlotte Hounds in the 2012 MLL Expansion Draft. Ghitelman had three successful seasons for the Hounds and was named to the 2012 All-Star Team after finishing the season with 186 saves in 14 games. After one season with the Boston Cannons, the Blaze acquired Ghitelman in the MLL Expansion Draft in 2016 where he has continued his success for the past two seasons. Ghitelman is currently in fifth place among MLL goalies with a goals against average of 12.73.
