Joey Sankey’s second straight six-point game helped propel the Hounds to a Week 8 win.
Charlotte Hounds attackman Joey Sankey’s six-point performance against Atlanta is the LaxDraft LaxStat for Week 8. With the help of Sankey, the Hounds were triumphant over the Atlanta Blaze at home. The attackman totaled six points with two goals that came at the end of the first and third quarter as well as four assists. He tied the six points (3 goals, 3 assists) in his last game against the Atlanta Blaze, matching his most points in any game this year. Sankey’s 2017 season for the Hounds has seen continued success as he has already accumulated 27 points (14 goals, 13 assists) in the first eight games. Sankey has been a player for the Hounds since he was selected as in the second round of the 2015 MLL Collegiate Draft. He tallied eight points (5 goals, 3 assists) in his professional debut and the UNC product has been a leading attackman for the Hounds ever since. He ended his rookie season amassing 22 goals (one 2-pointer) and 11 assists for a team-high 34 points. Sankey continued this success in his 2016 season for the Hounds with 28 goals and new single-season records of 54 points and a team-high 26 assists.
