LaxDraft LaxStat of the Week:

Chesapeake Bayhawks midfielder Myles Jones’s third straight three-point performance is the LaxDraft LaxStat for Week 9. After a slow start against the Charlotte Hounds this past Friday, Jones contributed to the Bayhawks' momentum and comeback with his second goal finding the back of the net with 14.4 seconds left leading into the second half. Although the Bayhawks ultimately fell to the Hounds 15-14, Jones ended the game tallying three goals.

Jones has been the leading scorer for Chesapeake with 27 points (17 goals, 2 two-point goals, 8 assists) this season and is currently tied with Rochester’s Jordan Wolf as the fifth leading scorer in the league. In his second game of the season, Jones became the first player in MLL to score double-digit points in a single game this season when he tallied a career-high ten points (5 goals, 1 two-point goal and 4 assists) and earned the Warrior Offensive Player of the Week for Week 3. Jones has continued to prove his offensive strength by earning at least two points in every game this season.

The Duke product was selected as the first-overall draft pick but the Atlanta Blaze in the 2016 MLL Collegiate Draft. After completing two games and earning three points in his professional debut against Boston, Jones was traded to the Bayhawks where he has continued his success.
