MLL Weekend Preview: Week 6

Florida Launch (2-2) at Ohio Machine (2-2)

Saturday, 6:00 PM on LSN

Storylines: The Machine are still settling in to their brand new stadium, Fortress Obetz, and are looking for their first win at the historic venue after losing their first two games there. By no means has Ohio been overmatched at home, losing those two games by a combined three goals -- including one overtime loss. Florida, meanwhile, is coming off an exhilarating overtime win in Rochester that saw the team score a game-tying goal with 10 seconds left in regulation.

Players to watch:  Scott Rodgers is holding opponents to 10.42 goals per game this season, the fourth-best mark in the league, thanks in part to the defensive play of Steven Waldeck, Matt McMahon and Jackson Place. The Launch have been propelled by a renaissance season from veteran attacker Chazz Woodson, who leads the team with 12 points. Woodson tallied the game-winning goal against the Rattlers last week.

Rochester Rattlers (2-3) at Denver Outlaws (4-0)

Saturday, 8:30 PM on Twitter

Storylines: Will the Outlaws ever lose a game again? Probably. But right now, they look very strong while searching for their 13th straight win dating back to last June. They will be well rested coming off of last week's bye. Rochester has alternated wins and losses every game this season. Coming off an OT loss, that means they're due for a win.

Players to watch: Denver's defensive unit with the likes of Michael Simon and B.J. Grill in front of Jack Kelly has been airtight this season. Denver is allowing 9.52 points per 45 possessions according to Moneyball Lacrosse, easily the best rate in the league. Rochester has been stingy on the defensive end, themselves. John Galloway (9.82 GAA) is one of two goalies with multiple starts -- along with Kelly -- to average single-digit goals against this season.
