Saturday was a very special day for one of the greatest players to ever wear an MLL uniform. Casey Powell, the third leading scorer in league history and former MVP, was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame on Saturday evening in Maryland. After playing 14 seasons with six different franchises, Powell made a lot of friends along the way and their support for Casey came through in this week's Social Media Roundup on MLL Press Box.
Scroll through a few of the tributes that the lacrosse community paid to the great Casey Powell. First up, Boston Cannons coach Sean Quirk, who is probably pleased that he doesn't need to coach against #22 any more.

Another legend on the field, Kyle Harrison, paid his respects to Powell with a vintage photo of Casey at Syracuse. Powell ranks second in career points at Syracuse with 287 and was named the national player of the year on two occasions.

This past season, Paul Rabil passed Powell for second place on the MLL all-time scoring list. As someone who grew up idolizing Powell, the Lizards star has a lot of gratitude for the mentorship Powell provided early in his career.
One of the best ever. Congratulations @CaseyPowell22 on your National HOF induction. I watched you set records and win championships as a 12 year-old, then had the honor of playing with you on Team USA as a 22 year-old. Creatively, you taught us to practice unconventionally. On the field, you played with a smile. Proud of you, CP.

Last but not least, the man himself took a group photo with family and friends who went to the ceremony.
